Salman Khan | Khan Academy

Sal Khan.

Let me make you very clear, I am not talking about Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan(will blog about him some other day).
I am talking about Sal Khan, an American educator and the founder of The Khan Academy with a mission to transform the education system.

Sal Khan had work at MVC Venture Capital.  He has also worked at Oracle as a Senior Product Manager and as a Technical Architect at Scient Corporation.

Sal Khan received his Masters degree in business administration from Harvard Business School. He also holds a Masters in electrical engineering and computer science, a BS in electrical engineering and computer science, and a BS in mathematics from MIT.

The Khan Academy

Sal Khan began tutoring his cousin, Nadia, in mathematics over the internet using Yahoo!. He decided it would be more helpful and beneficial to
distribute the tutorial videos on YouTube where he created YouTube channel on Nov 16, 2006. The popularity on the video sharing website and feedback and students comments prompted Khan to quit his job as a hedge fund analyst to focus on developing his YouTube channel, 'Khan Academy', full-time. Today The Khan Academy is a collection of 2100 videos and 100 self-paced exercises and a well structured series of  videos offering complete education from  arithmetic to physics, finance, and as well history.

He shows the power of interactive exercises — and calls for teachers to consider flipping the traditional classroom, to give students video lectures to watch at home, and “homework” in the classroom with the teacher available to help.
